Ocean Renewable Energy: resource characterization
The ocean represents a vast and largely untapped resource with huge potential for renewable energy conversion. This special issue covers a range of topics relating to ocean renewable energy resource characterization, including wave & tidal technologies, offshore wind, and OTEC, over multiple timescales. The issue also seeks discussions on the application of ocean energy for ocean observation and uncrewed vehicles. This issue also covers research to assess interactions of marine renewable energy with ocean processes. We also invite innovative research on ocean energy arrays/sites for co-located applications that would benefit from combined infrastructure.
